The Space Needle

An enduring symbol of Seattle and the Pacific Northwest, the Space Needle offers something you can find nowhere else: a true 360-degree view of one of America's most spectacular cities. On a clear day, you can see from Puget Sound to Mount Rainier to Glacier Peak, all from 520 feet up. The sky is truly the visit.

The experience is fully reimagined from the original. Two observation levels feature floor-to-ceiling glass, open-air skyline access, and The Loupe, the world's first and only rotating glass floor. Look straight down at the city beneath your feet.

Highlights

  • The Loupe: the world’s first and only rotating glass floor
  • Glass Skyriser benches that tilt out over the city
  • Indoor and open-air observation levels
  • Free digital photo downloads included
  • Timed entry, then explore at your own pace
  • Building the Marvel: a permanent exhibit on the Space Needle’s history, on the way up

Plan for 1 to 1.5 hours. Arrival to the top (including security, the exhibit, and elevator) can approximately 30 minutes on busy days. After that, stay as long as you like.

Chihuly Garden and Glass

Right next door to the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass is one of the most unique experiences in the country. This isn't your typical museum. It's an immersive world of color, light, and craft built around the life's work of renowned Pacific Northwest artist Dale Chihuly.

Glass sculptures are woven into lush plantings of camellias, dogwoods, fuchsias, and handkerchief trees. The result is something genuinely unlike anything else you'll encounter on your vacation.

Highlights

  • Eight immersive indoor galleries spanning Chihuly’s 40+ year career
  • The Glasshouse: a 40-foot-tall glass and steel conservatory housing a 100-foot-long suspended sculpture in reds, oranges, and yellows
  • Outdoor garden with glass sculptures integrated into lush Pacific Northwest plantings, best in spring and summer
  • Live glassblowing demonstrations by local artists beginning at 11am daily
  • Complimentary 30-minute Highlight Tours included with admission
  • Free digital photo downloads included
  • The Bar at Chihuly for cocktails, bites, and a view of over 25 of Chihuly’s personal collections

Plan for 1 to 2 hours. The experience is entirely self-paced. A free audio tour is available via smartphone for a deeper look at the work.
